  A clockwork orange is an anti-social criminal film which was released in 1971.It took place in futuristic London,Alex Delarge who was played by Malcolm McDwell is a leader of "droogs".They fight with others and rape women.Although they saved a girl who was raped by another gang.they came into a home of writer who is anti-government,and rape his wife.He fight with his friend ,and his friends want to revenge.One night,he want to rape the woman who lived alone.but he killed her accidentally.when he want to escape ,his friend hit him and he fainted.So he was taken into prison .Because he want go out of prison as soon as possible .So he agree to received an experimental aversion therapy for rehabilitating criminals within two weeks.When he was free from the prison.He was bullied by some people who were bullied by him before.When he came to the writer's home again.The writer let him stay in the room and playing Beethoven's ninth symphony which is his favorite music.When he jumped from the room and into the hospital .He tell people he has been healed.but in fact ,he began to love violence and rape again.

  This film was banned when it was released in England because it contain a lot of violence and erotic until the director Stanley Kubrick was dead. moreover,At that time ,There are some criminal event which were happened in England .The government think this film led to these things happen.
           

  A clockwork orange suggests some of dark side such as humanity and society.First of all,Alex'gang raped the woman but they do not allow others do it like them .His gang like a small government,they can do everything even it is wrong but general public can not do .Secondly ,it is a issue about freedom.Alex was a bad man.But the government made him become a person who is numb and can not choose to be good or bad.This means government use law and right to limited people's free.In addition,this film also imply that people are inherently bad.

 In this film ,there is a thing which is very interesting that Alex favorite music is Beethoven's ninth symphony .As we all know that it is a elegant works of art.So why did Alex like this elegant music at the same time he like to do some violent crime.Actually,Hitler also like elegant music and many Nazis senior had received high education but it does not affect them to attack other country and kill those people.

In 1950s post-war Britain. Mr stevens received a letter from Miss Kenton who was his colleague in the 20 years eairly .The film flashes back to Kenton’s arrival as housekeeper in 1930s. Mr stevens,he is an English butler who has dedicated his life to the loyal service of Lord Darlington . His level of loyalty is the highest.Miss Kenton who is his colleague.She is not very inflexible .In the manor, there is a rule that woman and man cannot have personal emotion.But love will come in time,Stevens fell in love with Kenton .It is definitely that Stevens will never violate this rule because he always strict for himself .So he buried his love in the heart.His worry and fear make him missed the best time to get together with Kenton.Finally ,she left.because the perfect performance of the actor and actress, they make the emotion of the repression expression to be perfect.The second world war has subtly evolved as the story developed.

Characters

The remains of Day directing by James Lvory in 1993.The author of this novel is Kazuo Ishigguro in 1989. and perform by Emma Thompson and Anthony Hopkins.Emma Thompson plays Miss Kenton who was a housekeeper at Darlington Hall .Anthony Hopkins plays Mr Stevens who was a loyal butler and he set a high standard for himself ,and particularly concerned with dignity. Stevens think to express feelings about his personal matters will compromise his dignity.

Setting 

There are a lot of country estates of English as location for the film .for example,Dyrham Park for the exterior of the house and the driveway, Powderham Castle , the interior of which was used for the aqua-turquoise stairway scenes, Corsham Court and Badminton House . Some scenes were also shot in the Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, which stood in for Clevedon. 

             

    This story occured at the period of the sceond world war in British.At that time,the social rules were certainly a major constraint.servants who wish to get married and have children immediately find themselves without a job, Married life is incompatible with total devotion to one's master. A truly "great butler" does not abandon his profession.So like Stevens ,he has to restrain his emotion by his job. When they stay at the Darlington Hall, Stevens choose to maintain the distance for his dignity which his personal understanding instead of to find the feeling that existed bewteen himself and Miss Kenton.

    I want to use the poetry i really favorite in this film as a start.From this name- Four weddings and a funeral,we can know that this film was separated in 5 sections.First time when i heard this name,i think it will have 4 weddings and a funeral like its name,but i did not  think that the funeral is belong to Gareth because he is the happiestand optimistic person in this film ,but i know a good film always has other plan--reasonable in sense but beyond expectation.This film was made in 1994.Starring Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell .It is a really successful film,but unfortunately,it appears in 67th Oscar.even if it did not encounter like Shawshank or Forrest Gump which full of  American spirt and lucky man,it is also difficult to use its no married end which challenge the old-fashion and the authority to contend with Pulp Fiction.I just can say it was born untimely.


    Hugh grant is a famous english comedy star.This film made his fame onto a new stage.In this film ,he gives people the impression-kind and honest, and  his handsome appearance and charming is unchanged remain.Moreover,my favorite is the actress Carrie by Andie MacDowell played.In the third wedding, she married with the man whose age as thrice as her.they hold the wedding in the scotland,and use the scottish music as the background .they are dance with wear scottish dress. the beautiful scene make the spectator to remember them.


     This film reflect some problems of social reality : single ,homosexual,male-famel relationship ect.At the same time,it shows the feature of west culture:they give more respect ,space and free to each other than east people.they can understand other's life without disturb them .love is always a question bewteen relationships.
 
    The director make a suspense for his spectator. When we watch this film ,we will think who will married with Charles? we all know that he had a lot of girlfriend before.but he did not want to married with anyone. in the forth wedding.Charles was told that Carrie was divorced .he begin to hesitate-get married or choose his love.Finally,lovers always can be together.The suspense throughout the whole movie, and  revealed the answer at the end.
   
     At the end of film ,the director use the way of photo to show Charles ,Carrie and their children ,and reflect the love life of Fiona,Matthew ect.it makes people feel very perfect for its end.




    <Four weddings and a funeral >is a classic romantic comedy . It use a humorous way to show about 8 people who did not get married often attend their friends's wedding. Beacuse their age is already not young anymore. So it is definitely that they have to accept the gossip from others before they get older.
They make these weddings into an important turning point in their lives --to find true love.
 

Charles had a lot of girlfriend before.But he do not want to get married with anyone, i remember there is a scene- Hannah thought Charles is preparing their wedding,but he just thought how to leave her. To be honest, it is very cruel.because most people who fall in love with their other half think they will have a perfect family in the future.

With the end of the third wedding,followed by a funeral.we have to say it is a perfect combination.This solemn funeral brought to a climax of the film.Make audience to calm down and out of the comedy atmosphere.Only the happiest and the saddest thing can make people to grow up.

When Charles regret to married with Hannah, Actually,i feel angry firstly because he hurt Hannah 's heart for his own love.But on the other hand ,if we really want to get married with someone who is not our true love.i think if we do it we will look like a walking dead without soul.we can not feel happy in the rest of life.But I believe everyone has different opinion.

In the end of this film ,Charles asked Carrie if she willing to get together with him without wedding.Carrie said "i do". In my mind ,if lovers make sure they really love each other ,they do not need use marriage to control each other.Sometimes the beginning also means losing.
